I have been a perfectionist as far back as I can remember.  I am organized, like to have a clean house almost all the time and balance my checkbook daily.  I have this memory of being in high school and proudly bringing my report card home to my dad with 4 A’s and 2B’s.  What I remember him saying is, “How can those 2B’s become A’s”?  It was very discouraging considering how hard I worked.  I realize that my belief has always been that I have to earn love, praise, and respect.  I have been looking for some outside thing to tell me that I am ok.  The problem is everything I have been searching for is found on the inside.

For the last 10 months I have been studying to be a life coach and while doing so I have been cleaning out my own life from the inside out.  I have spent many years trying to have a perfect diet and make sure I exercise as much as I can.  I have probably done 50 cleanses in the last 12 years.  So what does this mean for me?  That’s what I am trying to figure out.  Some days when I have it all together I think that I am doing a wonderful job.  Other days not so much.  One thing I have discovered is that I have given meaning to food and exercise that it doesn’t necessarily have.  

Food is something that our body needs to survive.  It’s also something that is meant to give us pleasure.  The problem is that we have been given so many mixed messages about it.  It seems we learn that if it tastes good it’s bad, and if it tastes bad it’s good.  Food is neither good nor bad.  I think we should all give ourselves a break.  We all need days where we do things that we enjoy and take time for us.  If that includes sitting on the couch doing nothing, eating a carton of ice-cream or calling in sick to work so you can take a break – then on occasion allow yourself to.  When we deny ourselves these simple pleasures then we obsess about foods we have cut out of our diet, or become overworked and stressed out.  Then we binge and create addictions to get through our day.  Every Sunday I play volleyball and my husband and I have a ritual where we go to Del Taco afterwards.  Knowing I have this in my schedule helps me not feel deprived when I am eating salads and vegetables during the week.  I know that I can still achieve the results I want in my body while enjoying some french fries here and there.  This week I am committed to letting go of the idea that I am weak if I eat something that I am craving or skip a workout day.

Visualization is one of the most powerful things you can do to to attract your ideal body or what ever it is that you are wanting.  I have been practicing this on and off for many years now with mixed results.  I couldn’t understand why sometimes it would work perfectly while other times, not at all.  A few years ago I was visualizing a skinnier body that I wanted and I couldn’t believe how well it worked.  I would visualize in my head what I wanted and get into the feeling place of already having it.  I was able to get to a place I never had been before without depriving myself of everything I normally did to achieve those results.  

If you don’t understand how powerful your thoughts really are, then maybe this will help.  If you can think a pure non-contradicted thought for 17 seconds then you have just done the work of 2000 action hours.  If you double that to 34 seconds then it is the equivalent of 20,000 action hours.  And if you double that again to 68 seconds then you have done the work of 10 lifetimes.  The work is to think a pure non-contradicted thought for that long.  This is something that takes practice.  This explains why so often people who have the most, work the least and the people who have the least, work the hardest.  This is why there are some people who can eat whatever they want and not gain any weight.  Also why some people just have to breathe to make money.  It’s their thoughts not their actions.  Well of course action plays a part, but their thoughts are what make their actions so successful.  

You can say it’s not fair or you can start practicing to choose the thoughts that are in alignment with what it is that you want.  Just this week I attracted a free laser treatment for my skin that I have set up in a few days.  I have been wanting to do that for while, but had no idea how I could justify paying for that right now.  I am so excited to see what I attract next!  This week I am committed to getting into the feeling place of already having the body I want and trusting that it is in the process of coming.

Often we are looking into the future with a belief system that was created from our past.  Do you set limitations for your life because of negative experiences that you have had in the past?  Have you failed at achieving something and created a belief system that you will never be able to reach past a ceiling you think that you have for yourself?  Often at some point in our lives we may set out and try to accomplish something whether thats to lose weight, heal some part of our body or even start a business.  Maybe it didn’t turn out the way we were hoping and have been carrying around that internal failure or disappointment ever since.  Maybe we have been afraid to try again.  Or maybe we keep trying without evaluating what went wrong and keep producing the same negative results over and over again.   

Well I’m here to say that no matter what you have or have not achieved in the past, it has absolutely no power over your future!  Your future is a completely blank canvas in which you can still produce every success you have ever wanted in every area of your life.  The Law of Attraction is the most powerful force in the universe and this is great news for those who want to deliberately use it to create their lives.  It doesn’t matter how bad you have messed up your metabolism, what disease you have or even how negative your bank account is.  If you can some how some way get focused in a way where you feel good about your desire, it has to come to you.  There is no one or anything that has any control over you or your life besides you.  The reason we feel like past experiences or other people are blocking us from what we want is because we are playing that story in our head over and over – even when we are not with that person or if it happened many years ago.  

If you catch yourself in a situation where your desire is feeling compromised because of an outside circumstance such as a family member, coworker, lack of know how or an experience we have had in the past – stop and ask yourself how can I get past it and let this pattern go?  Only you will know the answer.  Maybe you need to forgive someone or even yourself in order to release the past and move forward toward what it is you do want.  Maybe you need to rewrite the story of what’s possible in your head.  Just because it “went this way last time” doesn’t mean it will happen that way again.  Maybe you need to go inside and ask yourself what you are getting out of being afraid to change.  We don’t create anything in our lives that we aren’t getting something out of.  It’s hard to believe that we would create negative things, but once you take responsibility for 100% of what you are creating in your life, it is so much easier to change.

I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with some of my family members that I love very much.  It was interesting to observe my feelings being around them good and bad.  I didn’t realize that I had a story in my head of what our family dynamic was.  It played out exactly as I have been believing it to be.  At some point in the weekend I realized that I could create a new story by changing the thoughts in my head.  It brought me from being a victim to someone who has control over my life experience.  Observing these feelings even helped me to understand why I haven’t attracted some of the things I want in my life.  I was very excited to release these past patterns and start with a fresh new perspective.  This week I am committed to observing my limiting thoughts that are a result of past experiences and creating a new story about what is possible for my future.

There are more beliefs about health, diet and fitness than you can count.  If you ask 10 different people what diet is the best you will get 10 different answers.  Some people limit their carbohydrate intake, some people eat smaller meals several times a day and some others don’t even change their diet and just focus on exercise.  Sure there are common themes, but as a whole there is no one path that is going to get everyone to where they want to go.  If you are currently happy with the food you eat and how your body is responding to it, then you won’t get much from this post.  If you are active when it feels inspired and not forced, then you also may not get much from this post.  I am here to speak to people who feel stuck in a diet or exercise plan that leaves them feeling frustrated, unsatisfied or bored.

When you look out into the world there are so many different levels of financial wealth.  There are people who are homeless, people who live paycheck to paycheck and all the way to people who have pay $30,000 a month to rent a house on the beach for the summer.  When you look at the subject of time the same scale applies.  If you think about what it would take to make $100,000/year you would find many answers.  For some it may take working 2 or 3 full time jobs, maybe working 40 hours/week or for others it may take 1 days work on the movie set.  So what’s the difference between all of these people?  You may say talent, but don’t you know people with talent that aren’t getting paid nearly enough what they are worth?  You may say luck, but there really is no such thing if you truly understand the laws of the universe.  What about hard work?  But what about all the people who didn’t try very hard for their successes and it just kind of “fell in there lap”?  The difference is their beliefs about that subject.  A belief is a thought that you keep thinking over and over which causes similar thoughts to join it and eventually you start attracting evidence to support these thoughts through the law of attraction.

The same rule applies to our body.  There are people who can literally eat whatever they want and not gain a pound all the way to people who walk by a donut and feel their pants get tighter.  There are people who have perfect health who live on a diet where they feel free to eat whatever they want and others that work very hard at staying healthy by eliminating huge amounts of things from their life.  If you have a belief it takes hard work to get what you want, then guess what, it will.  If you have a belief that it is impossible to get back to your wedding day weight, then it is.  If you have a belief that your metabolism will burn off all unwanted calories then it will.  If you have a belief that your immune will fight off everything it needs to then it will.

So how do you go from an unwanted belief to a wanted one?  Well the first step is to find out what your limiting beliefs are.  I highly recommend hiring a life coach who can work with you to discover these, but if you are aware of them then you must understand that a belief is just a thought and you can always choose to think a better feeling thought.  For example you could catch yourself saying that it is so hard to lose weight.  Ask yourself what is a better feeling thought?  Only you will know by the way it makes you feel, but it could be something like I have met a lot of great people at the gym or you know I have achieved others things easily why not this too?  There are huge benefits to doing this because every time you choose a better feeling thought then what you are attracting changes.  You went from attracting it is hard to lose weight to I am meeting new people or I achieve things easily.  When you do this enough times you will start to see evidence of your new belief.  Maybe you will be at a restaurant and see that they have a dish that sounds delicious and would not give you any guilt after eating it.  Maybe you will be at the gym and your favorite show is on just as you are on the treadmill.  The more you practice your new better feeling thoughts, the more the universe will bring you evidence of them.  In no time you will see how powerful you are and that you are in control of your body from the inside out not the outside in!  This week I am committed to choosing better feeling thoughts when ever I catch myself in my limiting beliefs.

Do you have people in your life that frustrate or irritate you?  How about people that you love and appreciate?  For most of us it is a mix of both.  Everyone that we attract into our lives whether that’s a life partner, a friend, a family member or even the person who checks you out at the grocery store is mirroring back to you something about yourself.  This blog is dedicated to talking about the Law of Attraction and creating optimum health and the body of your dreams, so let’s tie that in.  The Law of Attraction states like attracts like so you wouldn’t even be able to be in the same space as a person if there wasn’t something that was “like you” with all the people you encounter good and bad.  I’m here to suggest that it is all good even the people that you are encountering who push your buttons.

Let me explain. When we were born we felt completely free, free to be happy, sad, mad, selfish, mean or whatever it was that we were feeling at the time.  You don’t see a two year old worrying if they have hurt someone else’s feelings.  As we grow up we learn that there are socially acceptable feelings and not socially acceptable feelings.  We learned to cover up the feelings that we were taught not to feel such as anger, resentment and jealousy.  Have you ever heard the saying, “what you resists, persists”?  Well all of the feelings and traits that we are resisting or trying to cover up, we are projecting onto other people.  So everything that you dislike about other people is really everything that you not allowing yourself to experience.  

If you are on a journey to love and accept yourself more it is worth taking a look at the people you dislike.  What I learned many years ago after reading “The Dark Side of the Light Chasers” by Debbie Ford, but am now just fully starting to grasp is that the traits in other people that push your buttons is a part of you that wants to heal.  I am here to suggest that every trait has a purpose and is not bad.  If you can’t be selfish and say no when you want to then you will miss out on a life that pleases you.  If you can’t be weak and ask for help when you need it, then you may never learn how to solve some of your problems.  If you can’t be angry and tell someone what they are doing is not ok with you then people can walk all over you.  If you can’t be lazy sometimes then you will never enjoy your now.  These are just some examples of traits that we may be afraid to be and would benefit from embracing them.  When we embrace them in ourselves, we stop projecting them onto other people and begin to feel more love for ourselves and love for others.  

During this journey of becoming a life coach I am discovering so many amazing things about myself that I did not know.  I have always tried to be nice and respectful to others, often biting my tongue as to not be perceived as mean or rude.  In fact it totally bugs me when I see people raising their kids with lack of respect for other people.  This week I learned how the “rude” children I have been attracting were really trying to send me a message about my own life.  I have had a hard time following the path that is most honoring to myself whether that be in my career path or in relationships.  In the middle of doing a meditation on my future self I was to imagine stepping into a doorway that held my ideal life.  I was instructed to see how that felt.  The thought of living my ideal life obviously felt amazing but there was a negative feeling that came up.  I felt that I was being rude, mean or even disrespectful to other people who were not living at that level.  That to be as happy and successful as I want, others would perceive me not taking into consideration how that would make them feel about their lack of happiness and success.  So the rude children in my life that I have been attracting were trying to send me a message that there is a gift in being rude.  Taking into account what makes you happy and not others can serve you greatly in your life!  I have been resisting my own happiness because I have been paying too much attention to other people’s feelings.  It’s time to stop being rude to myself and start honoring what I want!  This week I am committed to doing things that lead me to my dream life and body even if it may bring up someone else’s insecurity about where they are in their own life and body.

Last week we talked about how everything is made of energy including our bodies.  At all times the energy that makes up our bodies is vibrating at a certain frequency.  You can tell by the way you feel what frequency that is.  The actual Vibrational Scale is below.

You can see that if you are feeling fear, anger or disappointment then your body is vibrating at a lower (higher numbered) frequency.  If you are feeling love, happiness or optimism your body is vibrating at a higher (lower numbered) frequency.

All foods are made of energy and also have a frequency.  Foods that people generally say are “good for you” such as fruits and vegetables have a higher frequency.  Foods that people generally say are “bad for you” such as sugar and fried foods have a lower frequency.  What is the significance of all of this?  Everything – if you are wanting to change something about your body!  Depending on where you are on the Vibrational Scale you will be attracted to foods of a similar frequency or vibration.  For example what type of food do you crave when you are stressed out?  Probably sugar, fried foods and alcohol.  Then what happens is you eat the food and then blame the food for making your body feel bad.  It’s not necessarily the food, its the lower vibration that’s wreaking havoc on your body.  This is the root cause.  Thats why some people can eat those lower vibrational foods sometimes while maintaining a good feeling and looking body while others can’t.  The answer is where they are on the vibrational scale.

I have been a sugar addict forever!  Every afternoon I have been having a fresh thai coconut/raw chocolate shake that I make at home.  This is a healthy alternative to what I could be having, but I definitely depend on it to get me through my afternoon sugar cravings.  Since setting my intention this year to have the best year of my life and create the body of my dreams I have been using a lot of techniques and processes to guide me up the Vibrational Scale.  I have been releasing some anger, resentments and frustrations with better feeling thoughts.  This has left me feeling more relaxed and just in a more positive space in general.  Last week when I was close to running out of coconuts, I went to add them to the shopping list and I stopped.  I had the thought that maybe I had shifted into a place of not needing that shake to get me through the day.  So I decided to test it out.  It has been 3 days without it and so far so good.

Our cravings and addictions for outside things are really cravings for a relief in our internal world.  So whenever you go on a diet, eat more healthy food, or eliminate  things that you are used to eating you will start to become more aware of your negative feelings.  You will start to feel what you have been trying to get relief from.  Do you have repressed anger?  Do you have passions that you are not honoring?  Are you frustrated and covering it up with food?  To gain control over your relationship with food, you must find a way to gain control over your emotions.  As the weeks go by I will be sharing processes and techniques that you can do to “raise your vibration” into the more positive emotions so you can create optimal health and the body of your dreams!  This week I am committed to paying attention to the way I feel before I eat something to notice if I am eating because I am hungry or to trying to get relief from uncomfortable emotions.

To successfully use the Law of Attraction to create your life and become a deliberate creator you have to understand and accept the fact that everything that makes up the universe is energy vibrating at different frequencies.  You can easily understand this concept when you think about a radio.  When you set your radio to your favorite station you are choosing the frequency it is receiving.  Your television is also interpreting the different vibrations or frequencies depending on which station you are watching.  Everything that we see, hear, smell, taste and touch is of a specific frequency that your body is interpreting.  Thoughts are vibration as well.  All day long you are thinking about the past, present or the future.  Thinking about looking great in the new pair of pants that you bought is a vibration at a certain frequency.  Thinking about something you ate in a negative way is a vibration at a certain frequency.  Worrying about your test results that you recieved is a certain frequency.  Your emotions are telling you what vibration or frequency you are attracting.

So how can you use this information to create optimal health and the body of your dreams?  Well simply put you must think thoughts that are of the vibration or frequency that match optimal health and the body of your dreams.  The Law of Attraction brings like or matching frequencies together.  This is how we create our lives.  For many years I tried to take action in the direction of creating optimal health and my ideal body, but my thoughts were not of the same frequency.  What happens when you take action without adjusting your frequency?  You will not get the results that you want!  You can try and try and try to make something happen, but the laws of the universe are against you.  Once I started changing the frequency that I was attracting, the things I needed to do to achieve my ideal body felt different.  It felt more like I was called to the action that I needed to take rather than forcing myself to do things that felt unnatural.

When you look around at the universe there are so many things that happen effortlessly.  The planets orbit the sun and flowers grow from a seed.  Our bodies are meant to exist in the same effortless rhythm.  The only thing that is holding us back from optimum health and the body of our dreams is a resistant vibration or frequency.  In other words we are not setting our vibration or frequency to what we want.  Your emotions are showing you what vibration you are attracting.  Paying attention to the way you feel and finding thoughts that make you feel better is the quickest way to releasing that resistance.  You can easily get back into the effortless rhythm of thriving and well being that we are all meant to  experience by looking for things about your body that are already working and looking good.  By doing this you will be attracting the vibration of “my body works and looks good” which will attract more of that.  This week I am committed to finding the positive aspects of my body as it now and looking for thoughts that feel good when I think them.

Did you know that you can be do or have anything?  Did you know that if you have a desire that this Universe has the resources to bring it to you?  If this is the case then why do so many of us settle for less than we really want?  Why are we ok living in a body that feels unhealthy and uncomfortable?  Do you look out in the world and see people living lives that you wish you had?  Wake up!  Your life is happening right now, even as you read this post.  This is not a dress rehearsal – you’re not going to get another chance at this lifetime.  In fact, how did you spend your time today?  Was it doing things that are moving you toward your hopes and dreams or feeling bad about yourself?  Was it spent thinking about things that feel good or stressing about things that you have no control over?  Did you think about all of the wonderful things that you have been blessed with or complaining about the things that you don’t have?  Did you spend any time having fun or is enjoying life saved for when you accomplish everything off your todo list?  If you were 100 years old and looking back at this time in your life how would you feel about yourself?  Remember we don’t regret the things that we did – we regret the things that we didn’t do.  

Do you even take time to discover your hopes and dreams?  If you could be successful at anything what would it be?  Years ago when I was studying natural medicine I heard countless stories of people healing themselves of cancer and many other diseases using simple techniques such as juice fasting and detox.  I was constantly amazed at the power of the human body and the capacity it has to heal.  Regardless of the disease or the person that had it, the healing was always preceded by a strong desire for exactly that.  Sometimes it takes a big event to wake us up and start creating change in our lives.  Maybe we experience a life-threatening illness, a car accident, or our spouse cheating on us.  Do you really want to wait for something like this to happen before you start making yourself a priority?

I believe that our bodies are a reflection of our thoughts.  I believe that pain, discomforts and diseases in our bodies are manifestations of emotional pain, discomforts and unfulfilled desires.  A great way to honor your body is by honoring your innermost hopes and dreams.  I know you have a dream – everyone has one.  Do you believe in yourself?  Trust me I know the fear around that.  I have lived many years not utilizing my full potential.  It actually took me a lot of courage to even start this blog.  I am a few months short of becoming a certified Law of Attraction Life Coach and have had to move through some big fears in the last 9 months.  For those of you who don’t know me I am a very shy person that tends to keep my opinions to myself.  The thought that I had some knowledge or life experience that could help someone seemed very far from true.  I have been pleasantly surprised at the responses I have received so far.  But regardless of what others say, I am getting so many benefits just from following my passion.  My dream is to show people the power they have over their bodies and lives as I am discovering mine!  This week I am committed to having the courage to stay true to my dream and keep moving forward toward my goals.

You are meant to succeed, and failure should feel bad to you. Life is supposed to go well for you—and when it does not, there is something wrong. But what is wrong is not something that is outside of you over which you have no control. What is wrong is within you—and you do have control. And taking control is not difficult to do once you understand the basis of who-you-are and the basics of the Law of Attraction and the value of your personal Emotional Guidance System. -Abraham

The Law of Attraction states that like attracts like.  This means that what ever you are thinking about, talking about and feeling is being put into your future.  In order to attract optimal health & the body of your dreams, you have to begin thinking about it, talking about it and feeling like you already have it.  Some good questions to often ask yourself are: If I already had optimal health and the body of my dreams, what would I be doing today?  What clothes would I be wearing?  Who would I be spending time with?  How would my life be different?  It is important to start acting as if you already have what you want.  By doing this you activate the Law of Attraction to work with you, less action is required and manifesting your desires seems effortless. 

There are many ways that you can start acting as if you already have your ideal body.  Is there something you have always wanted to wear or use, but not having your ideal body has held you back?  Go buy it now!  You can wear it just around the house when no one else is there just to get the feeling of it.  Also, just having it in your closet could shift you into the expectation of attracting your ideal body.  Maybe if you had optimal health you would spend more times with your friends/kids/grandchildren.  Schedule that time into your planner even if it is 6 months or a year away.  By doing this you are telling the Universe that you are expecting to receive anything you need to heal before this date so you can make your appointment.  Start with small things that get you excited.  It is so easy to have the mentality to “wait” until you have what you want before you start doing the things you would do if you already had it.  If  you do this you are saying to the Universe I don’t yet have what I want and the Universe will continue bringing you not having what you want.

About a month ago I purchased some clothes (that I could afford) I knew were a bit out of my comfort zone, but I bought them with the feeling that I am the person that can wear these things.  Since then I have attracted a way to pay for some workout classes that I have been wanting to take for a really long time.  Here I am a month later being able to wear these clothes!  This week I plan to purchase a pair of heels with the anticipation of wearing them at a Bachelorette party in 2 months.  Purchasing these shoes gives me the feeling of having the body that can wear them with confidence which is helping me attract it.  These are things that feel inspired to me, what are you inspired to do?  This week I am committed to thinking, talking about and feeling as if I already have my ideal body.

When we make a decision to start creating our ideal body, we often start thinking about how we can change our diet.  When I first started studying food and diet I was so excited to learn how you can heal yourself, create optimum health and redesign your body size by changing the way you eat.  As the years went by, my diet continually got more and more strict until I was feeling so overwhelmed and restricted that I was miserable.  I had dozens of books and when I combined all of the opinions I was left with EVERYTHING is bad.  I was constantly battling my willpower and was left feeling guilty after everything I ate.

After studying the laws of the universe and especially The Law Of Attraction, I realized that it’s not the diet you are eating that is giving you the results, it is the way you feel about the diet that you are eating that gives you the results.  Thats why there are so many different diets that people swear by.  There will never be one perfect diet that works for everyone.  Your body’s reaction to the foods you eat are in response to how you feel about the food not necessarily the food itself.  If you are reading this there is a good chance that you have lived enough life experience that has exposed you to enough information to create beliefs about food and diet.  If I asked you a series of questions such as… How many vegetables eaten per day would make you feel good about yourself? How much sugar can you eat per week and still feel good about yourself?  How much fat can you eat per day and still feel good about yourself? What breakfast makes you feel the best about yourself after you eat it?  Almost everyone would differ in their answers.  This is how you can find the diet that is perfect for you – right now it least.  Beliefs about food can be changed and I will address that in a future blog post.  

As you start to deliberatley use your thoughts and the Law Of Attraction to create the body of your dreams you have to start where you are right now in your beliefs.  This means eating foods that make you feel good about yourself or you believe are good for you.  The worst thing you can do is believe something is bad and eat it anyway.  Remember when you are working with Law Of Attraction it is all about the way you feel.  Maybe you can eat 3 bites of a dessert and still be “in alignment” or feeling good.  So decide what feels the best to you, stick to it and watch the amazing results that you see.  Don’t worry about what anyone else is doing or saying, that’s what is best for them!  The only thing that matters is how you feel about what you’re doing.  This week I am committed to paying attention to how I feel about what I am eating and choosing to eat things that make me feel good about myself.
